At a glance

What SmartSana Energies does

A field team. We size every system, supply the equipment and install it with our own technicians, then we look after it: remote monitoring, preventive maintenance and an installation warranty.

Health and NGOs. Since 2020 we have powered Georgetown Global Health Cameroon’s TIDE programme (PEPFAR / CDC): 27 systems at 22 health facilities, maintained every year and, since 2024, for EGPAF. We also powered the Capzone rurale training centre in Bandja for Engineers Without Borders Switzerland.

Homes and businesses. Backup kits from 385,000 FCFA, complete solar systems for homes, and three-phase hybrid systems for businesses, such as the 30 kVA system at STIHL Central Africa in Douala.

Training the trade. With SmartSana Academy we train solar installers in Yaoundé: three months of classes and practice on our job sites.

Milestones

  1. 2020

    Founded in Yaoundé. TIDE programme pilot at Nanga-Eboko District Hospital; 7.5 kVA for the Bandja training centre (Engineers Without Borders Switzerland).

  2. 2020–2022

    27 identical systems at 22 health facilities in the East and Centre for the TIDE programme, up to the maternity wards of 5 district hospitals.

  3. 2023

    Solar power for haemodialysis at Kousseri Regional Hospital; health centres in Ngambé-Tikar.

  4. 2024

    TIDE programme handed over to EGPAF, maintenance included; solar computer lab at Lycée Bilingue d’Essé.

  5. 2024–2025

    A remotely monitored 30 kVA three-phase hybrid system for STIHL Central Africa in Douala.

  6. 2026

    Solar and backup homes in Yaoundé, Douala and Batouri; the sub-prefect’s office in Bamenda; solar irrigation in Awae.

A Cameroonian renewable energy company founded in 2020 in Yaoundé (RCCM RC/YAE/2020/A/2549). It installs and maintains solar photovoltaic, hybrid and backup power systems, as well as solar pumping and irrigation. It is the energy arm of SmartSana Technologies.
